In certain countries (such as Canada, Australia & most European countries) manual osteopathic treatments are covered by most insurance providers. In Canada more than 90% of insurers cover osteopathic treatments. It is worth checking for your individuate private insurance company to check to see if Osteopathy treatment is included in your paramedical benefit plan.
Ultimately, it is up to the individual patient to determine if they are covered for any examinations or treatments our clinic provides as well as the amount in which they are covered. Any costs not covered under a benefit plan such as a co-pay, maxed insurance, or not included in your benefit package, must be paid in full by the patient.
* Insurance companies are not allowed to tell ANY provider how much coverage they have within the patient’s plan.
Currently, we are only able to directly bill patients with Green Shield and Auto Insurance coverage for osteopathy. Patients with coverage from other insurance companies will have to pay upfront and submit the claim to their insurance company. As soon as this becomes available with other insurance companies, our clinic will implement the necessary software to make this available to other patients.
Appointments with our physician(s) are covered under OHIP; however, some procedures may require an additional fee(s) which would be discussed prior to the procedure.
